Viva Las Vegas!: Sweat60

No one goes to Vegas to workout, right? Wrong! We hit up Vegas post-Fourth of July weekend for a true girls’ getaway. The focus: food, pool and libations. However, that didn’t stop us from getting in those workouts. Sin City has a lot to offer when it comes to fitness on and off the Strip. While the trip didn’t allow for us to partake in aerial yoga class taught by Cirque de Soleil performers (at least not this time around), we did head over to the fitness center at The Cosmopolitan for their Sweat60 class. Sweat, weights, circuits…what can we say, we are girls who like to push it hard.

It may have taken some green juice and pre-workout magic for us to get there, but we rallied and allowed ourselves an extra treat or two as a reward. Balance. Check out our thoughts on the class and get into an inspired workout for your week below.

Sweat60

The Deets

Sweat60 is a boot camp-style group class consists of high-intensity interval training with boxing, plyometrics, strength training, and core stability exercises. Each 60-minute class is broken down into 14 different one-minute circuits designed to confuse your muscle groups and amp up changes to your body. It’s great choice if you are looking to burn off some of those buffet calories!

Gear Needed:

This fitness center has everything you need to get through the classes, even a refillable water station.

Studio Vibe:

It’s so Vegas. The traditional gym was pretty sizeable for a hotel fitness center. The space included a yoga “studio” and roped off area that will have you feeling like a VIP for Sweat60. There was even a tennis court!

Who to Bring?

Your friend who can burn both ends of candle. Taking an early morning class after a night of partying is a true skill.

Would You Double Tap That?

Yep, especially if you need a little fitness encouragement while in Vegas!

#FinessTip: If you want to take the class for free, stay at the Cosmopolitan. There is also a great juice bar in the hotel. If you are working toward some serious goals, this is the place for you.
