It's Getting Hot In RydeFyr!

RydeFyr

When we first heard about a heated cycle studio, our first thought was, “that sounds intense, challenge accepted.” It was a cold, rainy evening in LA, so we couldn’t think of a better time to give this class a try. If we’re being honest, 45-min sauna-like sweat session made us wary. But we did it, and liked it a lot! Get into our review below!

The Deets

RydeFYR is located in beautiful Manhattan Beach, CA, two blocks from the ocean. On a perfect sunny day, you can get your sweat on, grab a healthy post-workout snack, and relax on the beach, which is a great selling point for this studio. RydeFYR prides itself on being a “premium indoor cycling boutique offering a fully immersive multi-sensory full-body workout,” and we couldn’t agree more!

By adding heat, this studio delivered on a next-level workout. Not only did we double the amount of calories burned in an average cycle class, the heat eased our muscles. This allowed us to spin a little longer than usual. After a while, you don’t even notice the higher temp. This signature class also included a short arm workout, which gave out legs a break without lowing the heart rate.

We took a class with Chevy, the founder of RydeFYR and she truly mastered the art of music selection and lighting. She was also super encouraging and, most important, fun! Any instructor who is dancing with you is alright in our book.

Gear Needed:

Bring your bottle of water and a smile! This gym has everything you need down to the proper clip-in cycling shoes (for a small $2 fee).

Studio Vibe:

When the doors slide to reveal the red room, we knew we were in for a treat, the Fit with Finesse way. The music was awesome! With sounds from Missy Elliot, Drake, and old Kanye West, we couldn’t help but sing along and do a little dance climbing that hill!

Who to Bring?

The cardio queen in your life who lives off sweating that hair out a little bit!

Would You Double Tap That?

Yes! It was a nice change from our regular workout routine. We think this could be a great class to pop into a few times each month for a little cross-training and shock to the body (and senses).

#FinessTip:  Parking is really tough in this beach town. Try to arrive 30 min early, to find a meter or parking structure.
