Work Hard, Then Work Harder at TRUMAV Fitness

Nashville has become one of my favorite cities. While not the most diverse zip code, there is no shortage of things to do. Every neighborhood has it own vibe. There are multiple sport teams to root for and the fitness scene is booming.

One of my favorite areas is The Gulch. A few months ago, I stumbled upon a new gym that was just set to open. I talked with the staff for a while as they were getting set up that day and marked it as someplace I wanted to try next time I was in town. Well, after my Spartan Race, I stayed in Nashville and booked a recovery workout the very next day at TRUMAV (You shouldn’t be surprised. You know we are crazy, fit chicks by now).

TRUMAV

The story with TRUMAV starts in the name. Founded my country musician Tim McGraw, the facility bears the same initials. McGraw partnered with Snap Fitness to build out a boutique offering that is half, traditional gym and half, circuit-style group fitness.

The Deets

Based on the words displayed on TRUMAV’s longest wall, a TRUMAV shows up every day, is resilient despite challenges and courageous in the face of adversity. The gym touts encouraging others, focusing on possibilities, staying focused, working hard and dreaming big. All things we can get behind. But, what about the workout?

We checked out the arms + core focused class which consisted of six stations and three rounds of each before a hydration break. Then we received a second set of exercises following the same format. Is this where we note our trainer was also a cast member from CMT’s reality show, Music City?

Sweat Level
💦💦💦 of 5

Gear Needed:

A water bottle. All equipment was laid out for us and towels were available.

Studio Vibe:

The workout was just what I needed on a semi-recovery day. We utilized TRX straps, medicine balls, battle ropes and sandbag pancakes to sculpt our arms. The core portion of class consisted of mostly plank variations. Everyone could tailor the workout to their needs and range. It truly was a class for all levels, as there were plenty of weight options provided. The playlist was really good too!

Who to Bring?

That workout buddy who pushes you further. While our trainer was very inspiring, he cheered on those who were picking up the heavier weights but didn’t necessarily push clients to do so.

Would You Double Tap That?

Yes. I really enjoyed the structure of the class and the energy in the studio. There is also a free weights section and plenty of equipment. Clients can stick around to workout other areas that aren’t apart of that day’s focus, or just come in for their own solo workout.

When I’m back in Nashville, I’ll be looking to pop in again.
