S.E.L.F Fitness South Bay: It's A HIIT!

It is no secret that we love a good High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout, so when we came across S.E.L.F. Fitness South Bay, a studio all about the HIIT, we could hardly contain our excitement!

SELF Fitness South Bay has two studios in one location: SELF Fitness HIIT studio and SELF Zen, their yoga studio.  The HIIT classes incorporate cardio and strength equipment into a one-hour workout. What we love most about the classes is the use of a variety of equipment including treadmills, weights (dumbbells and kettlebells), trampolines, TRX ropes, battle ropes, heavy boxing bags and more! 

Can we say it’s a fitness queen’s dream?

Each day works a different part of the body. Monday and Wednesdays focus on lower body. Tuesdays and Thursdays are dedicated to upper body. Fridays you hit that core work, and weekend classes brings it all together in a full body cardio workout. 

When they say no two workouts are the same, they mean it! Every instructor designs their unique workouts and bring their individual style and vibe to the class. The workouts are written on a white board, so you can easily anticipate the next move and follow along if you get a little lost. Although each class can hold up to 20 people, the work out is broken into up to four stations; the instructors are very attentive and willing to modify a workout whenever you need it.  

S.E.L.F’s acronym stands for: Stay Healthy, Enjoy Life, Love Yourself, and Focus on Fitness. Talk about mission alignment!

Nope! S.E.L.F has everything you need for a great workout! Weights, Boxes, and Treadmills Oh My!  They even offer towels and water.

Depends on the teacher, everyone brings their own vibe from Top 40, Hip Hop, and even a little reggae! 

Who to Bring?
Your friend who knows how to push through, when the going gets tough!

Ummm Yes!! 

Finesse Tip: Every class design is different, so we recommend trying various instructors to find your favorite style and challenge yourself! Everyone is great, but we highly recommend Michelle. She's tough, but sweet, and she also teaches in the yoga studio. Hey Michelle!
